Peter C. Olsen
Peter C. Olsen is a Senior Director of LB&Co. specializing in organizational performance improvement and human resources management. His extensive track record of achieving favorable results has been gained in partnership with senior executives committed to people and process development. Mr. Olsen's 20 plus years of relevant experience includes consulting and managing diverse projects in companies ranging in size from entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 50 internationals.
Immediately prior to joining LB&Co., Mr. Olsen was Vice President - Corporate Development at Cablevision Systems Corporation, where he first met and worked with Mr. Benenson. There, he helped design and implement numerous business process improvement initiatives. He also supported organizational restructuring activities, assessed candidates and coached senior executives based on psychometric and multi-rater (360) tools, led management meetings and conferences focused on development and implementation of strategic business goals. He also led the development of revitalized performance appraisal programs for all levels of employees. As part of that work, Mr. Olsen managed the project to link the performance appraisal processes to compensation planning and administration.
Earlier, Mr. Olsen was the U.S.-based Practice Director for an international human resource consulting firm, Saville & Holdsworth Ltd. (SHL). His work at SHL included creation of a global multi-rater (360) assessment instrument with "results first" development planning, leadership training, executive team building, and organizational culture change initiatives. His clients at SHL, among others, included Eastman Kodak, Biersdorf, Novartis, and the Bermuda Government.
Before joining SHL, Mr. Olsen was a principal in Olsen Stern, a consulting firm he co-founded in Cleveland, Ohio. Olsen Stern's practice focused on the alignment of human resources with business strategies. In 1993, after establishing a client base that included Mobil Oil, BF Goodrich, Bayer, Progressive Insurance and the Delaware North Companies, Mr. Olsen and his then partners sold Olsen Stern to SHL in 1993.
Mr. Olsen received B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Akron and earned a Ph.D. in psychology from Case Western Reserve University. He has published articles in Boardroom Reports, Executive Excellence, HRD Quarterly and Personnel Magazine.
